The Algerian football team, champion of Africa 2019 (منتخب الجزائر بطل إفريقيا) is the selection of Algerian players representing the country at international football competitions.
The Algerian selection played its first qualifying at a World Cup finals in 1970. It won its first trophy in 1990 at the African Cup of Nations. It has a win in this competition, the last in 1990. In the African Nations Championship, the continental championship, the selection gets its best result in 2011 by placing fourth in the competition. In the World Cup, Algeria qualified on four occasions for a final tournament in 1982, 1986, 2010 and in 2014 in Brazil, Algeria qualifies for the first time in its history for the round of 16, becoming thus the sixth nation of Africa to reach this level.
The Algerian team players are: Mbolhy, Zefane, Faress, Benlamry, Hallich, Tahrate, Mandy, Feghouly, Benacer, Belkibla, Mahriz, Onas, Brahimy, Belaïly, Slilmany. These and other players won the African Cup of Nations against Senegal, thanks to a goal scored by Bonejah in the 2nd minute of the game.
